Yesterday I made a new batch of soap, Lemon Slices. It occurred to me that I've never made a lemon soap before (except Kakadu, but that's lemon myrtle). Which is odd, because I LOVE lemon-scented things! This scent really came to life once it was soaped. It's fresh, bright and lemony, with a hint of sweetness.
In the mould, freshly poured.
Sliced into logs.
Cut into bars.
Bars all lined up. The yellow colour looks a bit paler here than in real life. It's a lovely lemon yellow with white swirls. The batch will be ready by 15th December, just in time for summer!
P.S. A reminder that if you are outside of Australia and would like to grab some soaps for Christmas, our cut-off date is 25th November, which is just over a week away!

Looks really yummy! Sounds yummy too! Will be getting some of these!
ReplyDeleteI love citrus scented soap! Your colours look great and I can just imagine how delightful it smells... yum <3

ReplyDeletei love lemon scented soap, your soap looks really creamy and pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThey are incredible I am in love :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Erin! It always baffles me when you head into summer as we are getting colder. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm going to do an experiment with the soap cutter. Made a double batch of castile yesterday and cut half today = bubbled surface. I'm going to wait a couple more days to cut the other half (and hope it isn't solid as a rock by then!) and see what happens!
Sounds good Amy! Every batch I cut I'm getting less bumpy bits, so I must be getting the hang of it. Pouring the raw soap slowly into the mould seems to help too :-)
ReplyDeleteThis soap looks amazing!! I love the lemon color. Soo pretty ;0).

That looks absolutely awesome! I love lemon too, but can't seem to find a true 'lemon' scent. Most smell like that horrible lemon essence we'd use back in High School Home Economics classes for lemon slice!!
ReplyDeleteoh me, oh my - MUST have this soap!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and light! They look like they could float away.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteYour website is beautiful! I would ask that you do this pattern, the top soap?
I would like if you wrote a few tips.
More good luck from Hungary! :)
Have a nice day!
Bye!
Thank you Cherie. I don't really write tips on my blog, but if you google "texturing soap tops" you should be able to find some tutorials to help you. Happy soaping!
